JANUS (1D convective atmosphere model)
JANUS is a 1D convective atmosphere model for rocky exoplanet and magma ocean atmospheres. Generates a temperature profile using the generalised moist pseudoadiabat and a prescribed stratosphere. Calculates radiative fluxes using SOCRATES.
Pronounced jan-us. Jan as in "january", and us as in the collective pronoun.
PROTEUS framework
JANUS is the prescribed convective atmosphere model integrated into the PROTEUS framework, a modular Python framework that simulates the coupled evolution of the atmospheres and interiors of rocky planets and exoplanets. The documentation for PROTEUS can be found here.
